I was speaking to a cherished family member a few years ago when I suddenly realised with an unpleasant thud that I might not be able to listen to their stories for much longer. They were not getting any younger and it struck me that I should really do something to preserve their bold and unique take on the world.

So, I made a film about their life and once I had presented it to them it struck me that I should really offer the opportunity to more people, who like me were either considering the mortality of their friends or their own mortality. TOLD Films was born that day.
